You Tube Tag Swap
I signed up to participate in a Swap with Iowa 2308 on YouTube. The rules were simple. A tag that had to incorporate a dressform on the front. Sewing theme, vintage distressed style with a portrait orientation. The back of the tag had to have a pocket to hold all pertinant information. That was it...this is what I came up with!! Hope you like it!!

Altered Tins
I have been busy working lots of overtime, but in between work, I have managed to complete a few projects!!!
The paper collection I used for the above tin was the "Once Upon a Springtime Collection" by Graphic 45. The tin was sanded then painted with acrylic paint before attaching the papers. I also stamped on turquoise tissue paper, and used Mod Podge to attach the tissue stamped images to the top, insides and bottom of the tin. Other embellishments used were K & Company stamp stickers from one of their older lines. A silver paint pen was used on the arched area here and there, dry brushed acrylic paint over all paper edges and around the stamps on the top of the tin for a shabby effect. I coated the tin several times with the matte Mod Podge to finish it up.
The same basic process was used on the above tin. The paper collection used was Kioshi by Basic Grey, Kioshi/Pieces embellishments, K & Company Susan Winget Butterfly cut from the borders embellishments for the top of the tin.
I am still working on the tin above, I used older papers from my stash that I have long since forgotten who even made them!! I used Studio 112 (K&Company) set of 4 button stamps for the top image on vintage newspaper print. That section of paper was aged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye.
This is the Before.....Not to promote this product by any means, but so you will know how the tin started out...these would have ended up in the landfill...but now they will get used for little bits and pieces of who knows what!!! Coins, Mints, Meds.........Treasures Maybe?????

Learning to Tat!!
Five years ago I taught myself to thread crochet. I bought a book "I Can't Believe I'm Crocheting", thread and hooks in different sizes. I started off small, and practiced the stitches. I can remember watching my Grandmother and my Great Aunts Crocheting and I always loved the things they made. When my Great Aunt would babysit me, she would entertain me by crocheting little flowers for me and small doilies for my dolls!! I will never forget those memories of her. She was a very sweet lady and I always loved spending time with her. She taught me the basic chain stitch and when I was younger, I would just do straight stitching, nothing fancy and just played with it and usually made nothing but chains!!! Or shells but never a project...
After I learned the basic stitches, I found a pattern for a christening gown and bonnet and crocheted one for my granddaughter. She was a preemie, so she was very tiny, weighing only 2 pounds 3 ounces when she was born. It is a tiny gown. Faith screamed the whole time we were trying to get her picture in the gown and bonnet, and she never had it on again!! But it is put away for her when she is older, and her Mom will no doubt tell her how she screamed through the whole photo shoot!!
I have always admired the art of tatting, and have always wanted to learn. I thought you had to use bobbins or a shuttle. I recently met a wonderful Woman named Linda on YouTube, who can Tat!!! She has an etsy store and sells her beautiful tatted items. Please check out her awesome creations Here...

I have ordered some of her medallions and can't wait to receive them!! But in the mean time, I am learning to Tat!!! I learned through Linda that there were some great youtube videos out there!! I searched and I found a video tutorial for a needle tatted flower!! I bought a set of tatting needles, at Hobby Lobby, I am using a number 5 and I can't believe it but I have learned to make a flower!! So I am sharing my flowers!! The first one is a mistake of course...the second has a mistake in one of the turns, but the last one I can live with!!
No, they aren't magnificent, but they are a start!! I am so excited, something I have always wanted to know how to do...and I have found a free pattern for an edge trim that has hearts in it!! I hope I can accomplish this pattern, if and when I do, I will post a picture on my blog!!! Have a Great Week!! Hugs Patti

A Little Book for Faith......
I have been busy scrapping....I purchased a deal from Peachycheap.com....a few weeks ago...it was a cosmo cricket deal. I got tons of paper and some of the itty bitty books...I didn't care for the way they looked when following the directions for putting the actual book together, so I cut them apart and sewed the book together before binding it with ribbon and twill tape...I used a couple of tags from the dutch girl collection to finish the book, as well as most of the embellishments that went with the books...I also used some of my scraps and other papers to add to the book.
I hope you enjoy watching the video...my youtube name is kipperdsnacks...I would rather beTwoHeartsPath over there too....but I would have to start over...so I will just keep it the way it is...Have a Great Weekend....
